Designing Inclusion with KNIT.
KNIT is an innovation initiative from H&M Foundation aiming to rethink how DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) is practised in fashion — not as policy, but as product. By putting underrepresented voices at the centre, the program enabled real co-creation, resulting in tools designed with — not just for — the communities they serve.
Too often, DEI stays theoretical. KNIT set out to change that by empowering changemakers to build scalable, actionable tools that challenge industry norms from within.

Working with CC Projects was a truly positive and impactful experience. With CC Projects, we went from idea to implementation for two user-centric products within a complex, multi-stakeholder setup. They brought structure, energy and a hands-on mindset, delivering on time and on budget, all while staying calm, kind and fully committed to the shared goal.

From Concept to Impact.
CC Projects was a core partner in the design process, using the Double Diamond framework to guide product and concept development. We led workshops focused on design and technology, helping shape both the process and the resulting tools. Together with The DO and Creative Equals, we facilitated co-creation formats that empowered participants and moved ideas from insight to execution.
The result? Two concrete tools: Step Into My Shoes — an immersive empathy-building platform for leaders; and Humanitree — a visual tool for mapping inclusion, representation and power dynamics in organizations.
These concepts were developed further in an incubation phase involving user testing, entrepreneurial coaching, and deep collaboration with DEI experts and industry stakeholders. The outcome was more than just prototypes, it was proof that when design meets inclusion, innovation becomes real. Built by people with lived experience, the tools offered a participatory, scalable model for social impact that merges design thinking with systems change.
Why It Matters.
KNIT proves that inclusion isn’t a brand value, it’s a design challenge. By merging DEI with product thinking and creative facilitation, CC Projects helped turn vision into tangible impact. This case highlights how we work: hands-on, human-centered and impact-driven.
